U.S. Geothermal Inc.has entered into a securities purchase agreement with several institutional investors. According to the terms of the agreement, the company has agreed to issue 8,209,519 shares of Common Stock at a price of US $1.05 per share for gross proceeds of approximately $8.6 million.

Raser To Get US $32.99M Treasury Grant
Raser Technologies Inc. announced that the U.S. Treasury has approved its renewable energy grant application for the ompany's Thermo No. 1 geothermal power plant. The grant is provided by the U.S. Treasury Department under the Section 1603 renewable energy grant program created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Raser should receive the funds within five business days. The grant amount for most geothermal projects is equal to 30% of the authorized capital costs of the project.

Ormat To Increase Capacity of Olkaria III Geothermal Plant
Ormat Technologies this week said that its project subsidiary has signed a letter of intent with the off-taker, Kenya Power & Lighting Co. Ltd (KPLC) for further expansion of its Olkaria III power plant by up to 52 MW (from 48 MW to up to 100 MW) within the framework of the existing power purchase agreement (PPA).

NV Energy Signs 32-MW Geothermal PPA
NV Energy has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with a subsidiary of Ram Power Corporation for energy that will be produced by a new geothermal power plant under development in central Nevada. The 32-megawatt Clayton Valley Geothermal Project is expected to be generating electricity by 2014.
